PixSync Privacy Policy

Updated: August 20, 2026 Effective: August 20, 2026

PixSync is a camera media synchronization and management app for Mac. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

1. Local processing

Media lists, sync history, file hashes, paired-device information, transfer checkpoints, and app settings are stored on your Mac by default. Wireless transfer uses Bluetooth and the local network to connect to a nearby compatible camera only after you initiate the action.

Camera Wi-Fi credentials are used only to connect to devices you have paired. Passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain and are not written to ordinary settings files, diagnostic logs, or uploaded to the developer’s server. You can remove device information under Manage Saved Devices.

2. Photos, videos, and AI organization

Normal syncing, browsing, searching, and deletion do not require uploading media to the developer’s server.

Only when you actively use AI organization does the app resize a lightweight photo preview or an existing video thumbnail to approximately 800 × 800 pixels at most and send it to the AI provider displayed in the app for visual analysis. PixSync shows the current provider in Settings, the AI Organizer, and the first-use consent notice. The underlying provider may change for availability, performance, security, or compliance reasons. If the provider or data-processing scope changes, the app will update the privacy revision and request your explicit consent again. Complete videos are never uploaded for recognition. File hashes are used only to prevent duplicate recognition and are stored locally by default.

To prevent repeated use of free allowances, apply reasonable usage limits, and protect service reliability, the app creates a random identifier that belongs only to the current installation and sends it with AI requests. It contains no hardware serial number, Apple ID, advertising identifier, or camera credentials and is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

Before using AI, the app identifies the third-party AI provider, the content to be sent, and its purpose. You may decline or disable AI organization without affecting local sync or media management. AI naming always follows the app interface language. Changing the language does not reprocess or modify files that were already organized.

3. Email support and diagnostics

When you select Send Issue, the app sends the contact email and issue description you entered, together with the app version, build number, macOS version, and current language, to the PixSync support service for delivery to the developer’s support mailbox. This information is used only to handle and reply to your request and is retained until the issue is resolved or you request deletion.

Support does not upload logs automatically. A recent, redacted, size-limited log is attached only when you enable Attach Diagnostic Log and send the request. Logs do not include API keys, photos, videos, or camera Wi-Fi passwords. Support data is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

4. Subscriptions

Subscription purchases and payments are processed by the Apple App Store. PixSync reads the subscription status supplied by Apple and does not receive your bank-card details or complete payment information.

5. Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete app data, saved devices, or sync history. You control media copied into your chosen folder. Retention of cloud AI requests is governed by the applicable provider’s policy.

6. Permissions

Bluetooth is used to discover and wake the camera; Local Network access is used to connect to camera Wi-Fi; file access is used for the folder or USB volume you select. Denying a permission affects only the related feature.

7. Contact

To request access, correction, or deletion, or to ask a privacy question, contact superhythm@163.com.

If this policy changes materially, the app will provide reasonable notice before the change takes effect.
